The next AirPods Pro might ditch the classic stemmed design: new leak

A new Bloomberg report purports to spill the latest on the next generation of Apple’s signature TWS earbuds and their availability. It asserts that the third generation of the base models will be out some time in 2021. The next Pro variants, on the other hand, will be the first to bring a new design to their series, although fans may have to wait until 2022 to see it.

Apple’s AirPods have inarguably made a major contribution to the rise of the TWS earbud – not to mention the wave of copycats based on their distinctive stemmed, hairdrier-like design. Nevertheless, a new report asserts that the accessories’ next Pro versions will be the first to launch with a new shape instead.

Therefore, they might be the first Apple-brand TWS earbuds to follow the trend set by others such as the Samsung Galaxy Buds or Sony WF-1000XM line. In other words, they might mimic the also-rumored Beats Studio Buds that are also doing the rounds in the form of leaks at present.

However, Bloomberg – quoting sources the outlet describes as having “knowledge of the matter” – also now insists that these AirPods Pro 2 will not be unveiled until 2022. Until then, Apple enthusiasts just might get new base models to tide them over.

These TWS earbuds are still expected to launch with stems, albeit ones shorter than ever before. They are also projected to debut with improved sound quality and battery life on their 2021 launch.
